Every entry reflects mainstream academic and religious-studies consensus, not fringe or debunked claims.
Dating is given as scholarly estimates; where traditional attribution differs from critical scholarship, both are noted.
Authorship distinguishes traditional attribution from the critical/historical view (many ancient texts are anonymous or composite).
Scope: canonical scriptures, deuterocanon/apocrypha, commentaries, and historically significant religious literature across world traditions and eras.
Editorial exclusion: texts whose central, self-professed purpose is the worship of Satan, demons, or explicitly evil entities are omitted by design.
Correcting a misconception: Yazidism is not devil-worship — a debunked mischaracterization — so its texts are included with that clarification, in keeping with the "validated, not debunked" standard.
